Privacy policy

Fareground is a walking game. To work, it needs to know roughly where you are and how many steps you have taken. This page lists what we collect, why we need it, who else handles it, and how to delete it.

What we collect

What other players can see

Your username, avatar, badges, profile photo, the parcels you own and your place on the leaderboards are public within the game. Your email address, your exact position and your step history are never shown to other players.

Ads

Fareground shows rewarded ads from Google AdMob, but only when you choose to watch one: to claim a parcel, start a boost or earn bonus Walk Points. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID and collect information as set out in Google's policy. Where the law requires it, for example in the EU and the UK, you'll be asked for consent first, and you can choose non-personalised ads.

Who handles your data

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the services that run the game:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to deal with cheating or abuse.

Keeping it and deleting it

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. That permanently removes your profile, steps, Walk Points, coins and photo, and frees your parcels. We may keep a small amount of records for a limited time where the law requires it or to prevent fraud.

You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it.

Children

Fareground is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has made an account, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll also let you know in the app.
